Biography
Pedro L. Sotolongo is a Doctor (Ph.D.) in Philosophy (1984) and Master (M.Sc.) in Physics (1969), Senior Researcher at the Havana Institute of Philosophy and Head of the Complexity Cathedra. Chair of the Havana Biennial International Complexity Seminars (January—even years) and of the Cuban Biennial Complexity Workshops (April—odd years). Member of the National Board for the evaluation of Ph.D. Doctoral Theses in Philosophy and Member of the Board of the Cuban National Bioethics Commission. Pedro has undertaken research in Dosimetry of Ionizing Radiations, Radiological Protection, Epistemology, Dialectics, Social Theory, Complexity Theory. He is the author of three books and numerous scientific articles published in Cuba, Mexico, Argentine, Russia, and the U.S. Invited Professor at the Rosario National University, Argentine, 1995-98. Recently Pedro received (2005), the ‘Carlos J. Finlay’ Order, the highest one conferred to scientists in Cuba.
